Is the museum accessible to people with reduced mobility?
Currently, the museum isn’t accessible to people with reduced mobility, as it is inside a castle from the 18th century and doesn’t have an elevator. One must take staircases to access the three levels.
How much time does it take to visit the museum?
In order to fully discover the museum, the visit takes around an hour and a half for adults.
Can one have lunch in the museum?
The museum doesn’t have a cafeteria and doesn’t sell food on its premises.
Is there a picnic area in the museum?
The museum doesn’t have a picnic area, as the museum opens at 2pm.
For groups who made a day-long reservation, a marquee can be made available.
What is the minimum age to bring children to the museum?
The museum is accessible to all, from a very early age. A game booklet is available at the front desk for children who are 6 years old and older. Activities for children are also regularly programmed.
Can photographs be taken in the museum?
Photographs are allowed in the museum but to protect the artworks, the flash must be turned off.
Can videos be taken in the museum?
Strictly personal videos are allowed. It is nevertheless forbidden to film artworks or rooms for commercial or promotional intent without prior authorization.
Are there lockers or a coat check room?
Free lockers are at your disposal to store your personal belongings before your visit, within storage capacity. Strollers can be stored at the front desk. Light models are authorized in the exhibition spaces but since there are numerous stairs, their use can be difficult.
Are animals allowed in the museum?
Animals are not allowed in the museum, except for guide dogs and assistance dogs for disabled visitors.
Can one practice archery in the museum?
A short initiation is available for children from 6 to 11 years old, depending on the weather and if formed staff is present.
It is unfortunately not possible for adults to practice archery. Initiations are offered during specific events.
Does the museum have a bathroom?
Yes, there is a bathroom in the first room of the museum. A baby-changing table is also available.
Should I book my visit?
For individual visitors, it is not necessary to book to visit the museum’s collections. On the other hand, it is mandatory to book your visit for guided tours for adults and children.
Online booking is also advised for certain activities offered by the museum, which you can find in the “Events” section of our website.
Is there a parking nearby?
Parking isn’t available in the street where the museum is located but parking spaces are available Place Gambetta (100m), Place Saint Simon (200m), Place de la République (400m) and Cours du Jeu de Paume (500m).

Which payment methods are accepted?
Only cash and checks are accepted. The museum is not equipped for credit cards. Chèques cultures and Traveler’s checks are not accepted.
The museum is part of the Pass Culture network.
Are there audio guides?
Yes, an audio guide can be downloaded for free on your smartphone through a QR code available at the museum’s front desk.
How can one receive information about the museum?
You can subscribe to the museum’s newsletter to receive the latest program.
Can one order objects from the giftshop online?
No, the shop is not in capacity to sell its products online.
